Effective date: 1 October 2020

What changes?

Are you a self-employed professional from abroad? In the future, your family members may be allowed to take a job with you or another employer without additional paperwork.

Self-employed professionals from abroad are only allowed to work independently in the Netherlands. Currently, the same goes for their family members. For whom?

  • foreign self-employed professionals and their family members

When?

The change is expected to come into force on 1 October 2020.

Please note: The effective date of this measure is not yet final. Entry into force is subject to its passing through the upper and lower houses of parliament or proclamation of the Order in Council (Algemene Maatregel van Bestuur, AMvB) or ministerial decree and publication in the Staatsblad or the StaatscourantExternal link (in Dutch).
