Citizen service number
In the Netherlands, everybody who is a resident or who has registered as a non-resident (f.i. a student or worker staying up to 4 months) receives a citizen service number (burgerservicenummer, BSN). You can use the BSN to identify yourself to government agencies, health care providers and educational institutions.
Valid identity documents can be: a Dutch passport, identity card, driving licence or motorcycle driving licence (category AM). A copy of one of these is not a valid identity document.
