Every Dutch province has its own Provincial Environmental Act (Provinciale Omgevingsverordening, POV). The provincial authorities may include additional rules for certain environmental problems in the POV. You may not perform any acts that are prohibited by the Environmental Management Act (Wet milieubeheer). However, if you wish to do so, you may, under certain conditions, be granted an exemption from the provincial authorities.
Request for enforcement of environmental management
If you believe a company does not observe the environmental regulations, you may file a request for enforcement with the provincial authorities.
