Working at height

This information is provided by: Netherlands Enterprise Agency

If you own a company in the Netherlands and you or your employees work at height, you are legally obliged to take measures in order to minimise the hazard of falling. For example, you might use an aerial platform, fixed or mobile scaffolding, railings and guardrails. In some cases, it is sufficient to use safety nets or harness belts with cords.

Steps and ladders

The use of steps or ladders must be avoided as much as possible. Ladders are primarily intended to access the work space, but not to be used as a work space. Ladders must be periodically tested.
