Municipality Hoeksche Waard: Permit for gaming machines and amusement arcades
A gaming machine is a machine with which money can be won, such as a slot machine. This is not possible with an agility machine, think of a pinball machine or video games.
Do you want to install a gaming machine in your company? Then you need an attendance permit. You send this to us by e-mail or post. For an agility machine, you do not need an attendance permit.
Are you the owner of a catering business? Then the following rules apply:
- You have a valid operating licence for your business
- You have a valid liquor and catering license
- There are no other activities in your company (such as at a bowling center)
- You may place a maximum of two gaming machines in a high-threshold establishment (cafes and restaurants)

You will receive a message within 8 weeks whether you receive the permit. Do you disagree with our decision? Then you can object within 6 weeks.
Please include the following information in your objection:
- your name and address
- the date of your objection
- which decision is involved
- why you do not agree with the decision
- your signature
The notice of objection must be submitted to the municipality by post, by e-mail it is not possible to object. The municipality of Hoeksche Waard is advised by an Objections Committee.
