If you want to install a gaming machine, you need a gaming machine licence. You can only apply for a gaming machine licence if you operate an amusement arcade or if you have a high-treshold establishment. An establishment is high-treshold if:
- the location is used as a café or restaurant
- you have a valid alcohol and catering licence for this location
- the activities are suitable for persons aged 18 and over
To apply for a gaming machine licence, you also need other permits:
- For a high-treshold establishment, you need a valid alcohol and catering licence.
Good to know
- The gaming machine licence is valid for the same period as your alcohol and catering licence. You must make sure to renew your gaming machine licence on time.
- The licence is personal: you are the only person who may use it.

You pay costs for the application for a gaming machine licence.
You will receive a response to your application within 8 weeks.
