Residential and commercial burglary prevention subsidy scheme

If you live or own a business in the Netherlands and have been a victim of a break-and-enter or raid, you can apply for a subsidyExternal link (in Dutch) to take measures to prevent future thefts in your home or business. These measures include the installation of a spyhole or a door guard in your home. Measures for businesses include CCTV, safes, alarm buttons and staff training.

When do you qualify?

  • You have been the victim of a burglary or robbery that involved violence or the threat of violence between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2018.
  • You must live in the residential property or be the owner of the company or branch manager concerned.
  • You have implemented the security measures in the meantime and you have receipts to prove that you have done so.

How to apply

You can apply for this subsidy to the Dutch Violent Offences Compensation Fund until 1 July 2019.
