The net environmental burden reflects the financial burden of business as a result of caring for the environment.

This chart provides key figures on environmental investments and environmental costs by companies (with 10 or more employees) in the mineral extraction, manufacturing, energy supply and water extraction business sectors. The term 'environment', as used in this table, includes the living environment outside the business premises including the soil environment, or soil beneath that premises.
