Landlords in the social rented sector can apply for a subsidy for the implementation of energy-saving measures for their housing stock (STEP, Stimuleringsregeling energieprestatie huursector). This subsidy is available both to housing corporations and other landlords.

Energy-saving Fund rented housing sector (FEH)

Landlords who are planning an energy efficient renovation for at least 5 of their houses, may be eligible for a loan from the Energy-saving Fund (FEH, Fonds energiebesparing huursector). This fund applies to houses both below and above the social housing rent limitExternal link.

When do you qualify?

  • For STEP: the rental price must be below the social housing rent limit.
  • The subsidy amount depends on the actual energy index of the rental accommodation at the time of the application.
