If you own a company in the Netherlands that produces sustainable energy, you can apply for a subsidy for the production of renewable electricity, renewable heat or the combined generation of renewable heat and electricity or green gas. This is part of the Sustainable Energy Production Subsidy SchemeExternal link (Stimulering Duurzame Energieproductie, SDE+). The following energy sources are eligible:

  • biomass
  • water
  • wind (in lakes, on land and dikes)
  • wind at sea
  • solar
  • geothermal energy

When do you qualify?

Only the cheapest forms of sustainable energy qualify for a subsidy. Different conditions apply to the different forms of sustainable energy production. You have to submit a feasibility study among other things. For geothermal categories you both need an exploration licence and a geothermal study.

How to apply?

This subsidy is closed. For more information contact the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
