Caps must be attached to plastic drink bottles

What changes?

Do you manufacture or import plastic bottles? Caps and lids must be attached to plastic drink bottles and beverage containers that are meant for single use. This way caps on disposable bottles will automatically be returned for recycling and not end up as litter.

This does not apply to:

• bottles and drink containers for medical use
• bottles and drink containers with a capacity over 3 litres

For whom?

• manufacturers and importers of plastic bottles and beverage containers

When?

This change in te 2014 Packaging management decree (Besluit beheer verpakkingen 2014) will come into effect on 3 July 2024.
