What changes?

Fuel suppliers for inland vessels must blend a specific percentage of sustainable biofuel. Adding biofuel lowers the carbon emission.

The Green Deal on Maritime and Inland Shipping and Ports includes the agreement that emissions through inland navigation must come down. Carbon emissions due to inland navigation must be 40% to 50% lower than in 2015.

The obligation to blend biofuel is already in place for road freight.
