Do you have a business in the Netherlands and want to invite a foreign business partner to visit? They may need a visa depending on their nationality.

There are different types of visas, such as a Schengen visa for up to 90 days and a long-stay visa (Machtiging tot voorlopig verblijf, MVV) for someone who wants to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days. You can check the Visa Adviser on the Dutch government website Netherlands Worldwide to find out what sort of visa is needed.

Your foreign visitor can apply for the visa they need at the Dutch embassy or consulate in their country.

Invitation letter

Your foreign business partner may need an invitation letter from you to obtain a visa. The requirements for such a letter depend on the circumstances in their home country. This letter must be sent to your business partner and must be shown when they request the visa. Dutch embassy websites often provide information on the application procedure.

Different rules apply for a stay of over 90 days. Check the IND website for information about a residence permit or visa for more than 90 days.
