The Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP) is the official body responsible for registering trademarks and designs in the Benelux. BOIP also allows you to formally record ideas, concepts, designs, prototypes in an i-DEPOT.

BOIP's areas of operation include:

  • Trademarks: Registering your brand as a trademark.
  • i-DEPOT: This allows you to prove that your idea already existed as of a certain date.
  • Designs: Registering your design with BOIP grants you the exclusive rights to your design in the Benelux for 5 years. This period can be extended 4 times to a maximum of 25 years.

For general information, registry details, applications or i-DEPOTs, please contact BOIP's Information Centre.
