In the first quarter of 2026, companies in the transport, mail and storage sectors reported a 2.5% increase in turnover compared with the same period a year earlier. Turnover in the land transport sector rose by 6.7%. Post and courier companies reported a 6.2% increase in turnover.
Vacancies and wages
In the second quarter of 2026, there were 15,200 job openings in the transport, mail and storage sectors. That is more than in the previous quarter. At that time, there were 13,500 openings. 31% of the businesses in transport, mail and storage reported a staff shortage.
Business confidence
At the beginning of the third quarter of 2026, business confidence in the transport, mail and storage sector stood at -4.4. This was higher than in the previous quarter when confidence was -13.5. Entrepreneurs in the transport, mail and storage sector were more positive than the average business owner.
