Municipality Helmond: Working with the environment plan
A zoning plan states, among other things, where and what can be built. It also states what a building may be used for. For example, whether it can be used for housing, catering or other businesses. You can view the municipality’s zoning plans. This is useful, for example, if you have building plans or want to start a business.

Approach
You can view (draft) zoning plans on the ‘Ruimtelijke plannen’ (Spatial Plans)-website (in Dutch).
Does the zoning plan provide insufficient clarity or does it require further investigation? If so, you can submit a request for zoning plan information in writing. This can also be done by e-mail (via omgevingsvergunningen@helmond.nl). Your request will then be treated as (building) information. If your request contains insufficient information, we will ask you for a supplement.
You can also request a preliminary consultation digitally via the environment desk (Omgevingsloket). You start with an application and fill in all requested data. Then add all the necessary documents digitally. You then go to ‘contact competent authority’ and open it for competent authority.

Sometimes an information request costs money. The costs are listed in the fees table of the 2023 fee regulation.
The processing of your claim notification/application takes at least 6 weeks, but it can also take longer than 1 year.
