Environmental management notification

Do you have a type B business? You must notify the municipality of your business activities. You do this by way of an environmental management notification via the Activities Decree online module Activities Decree online module (Activiteitenbesluit Internet Module, AIM, in Dutch).

You must submit the notification at least 4 weeks before starting, changing, or expanding your business.

All-in-one permit for physical aspects (environmental permit)

Do you have a type C business? You must apply for an all-in-one permit for physical aspects.

You must apply for the all-in-one permit for physical aspects at least 4 weeks before starting, changing, or expanding your business.

To apply for an environmental permit or to make an environmental report, you must provide information.Think of a map, a description of the business activities or a report of a study into acoustics, soil, energy or odor. What you need to provide depends on the type and size of your company. You can see in the application which information is required.

Environmental management notification

You must submit the environmental management notification online via the AIM (in Dutch).

All-in-one permit for physical aspects (environmental permit)

If you start, change, or expand a business, you must apply for an environmental permit from the Online environment portal:

1.    Go to the online service counter Omgevingsloket online (in Dutch)2.    Log in with DigiD (for individuals) or eHerkenning (for businesses).

If you apply for an environmental permit, you pay a fee.

Have you applied for a permit? Then there is a formal procedure. We will first publish your application and our draft permit. Stakeholders will then have 6 weeks to view and respond to them.

We will then announce the application and the final permit. You can then respond for another 6 weeks. Interested parties can lodge an appeal with the court within this period and then appeal to the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State. If they fail to do so, the permit is final.

You may not agree with the decision on your permit application.

Regular procedure

In the regular (ordinary) (regular) procedure you first lodge an objection with the body that rejected your application. Do this within 6 weeks of the date of the rejection. Do you subsequently disagree with the decision on the notice of objection? Then file an appeal with the court. You can then appeal to the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State.

Extensive procedure

In the extended procedure, you first give your opinion on the draft decision (this is called an opinion) to the body that rejected your application. Do this within 6 weeks of the date of the rejection. You can then appeal to the court. Even then you may still appeal to the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State.

Did the body that rejected your application not respond within the appeal period of 6 weeks? Then the permit is final.
