At the Omgevingsloket online (in Dutch) you can see which attachments you need to send. What you need for the application depends on the type of company and its size:

  • an acoustic report
  • a soil survey report
  • an odor report
  • an energy report
  • a map, and/or
  • a business plan in which you explain the business activities

You consult with the municipality in which your company is located. You can apply for the environmental permit at the environmental counter online. Firstly you can do the permit check at the counter. Then you will immediately see whether you need a permit or if you need to make a notification.

Environmental management notification

You must submit the environmental management notification online via the AIM (in Dutch).

All-in-one permit for physical aspects (environmental permit)

If you start, change, or expand a business, you must apply for an environmental permit from the Online environment portal:

1.    Go to the online service counter Omgevingsloket online (in Dutch)2.    Log in with DigiD (for individuals) or eHerkenning (for businesses).

We publish the application and the draft permit on Overheid.nl (in Dutch) and place it at the desk where you can view it for 6 weeks. During this period, people for whom this is important can respond in writing or vocally. We will then announce the application and the final permit, which can be viewed for another 6 weeks.

Do you want to object? Then the following applies:

  • With a standard environmental permit (8 weeks), you have to object within 6 weeks after the announcement of the decision. How you do this, is stated in the published decisions.
  • If it is an extensive environmental permit (26 weeks), then it is a draft decision. You can submit your view within 6 weeks. Afterwards there will be a final decision. You can file an appeal with the court within 6 weeks.
