Municipality Amersfoort: Fire safety measures for a building
Buildings must meet fire safety regulations.
In some cases, you must notify the municipality that you are going to use the building; this is called a notification of fire safety-compliant use (gebruiksmelding brandveilig gebruik) .
You must apply for an all-in-one permit for physical aspects (omgevingsvergunning) for fire safety-compliant use.
You can find out if you need to make a notification by running the permit check on the online service counter Home - Omgevingsloket (overheid.nl) (in Dutch).
Applying or submitting a notification
- Run a permit check to see if you need a permit or if you must submit a notification.
- If you need a permit, you can apply for it at once online on the online service counter Omgevingsloket or send in a written application. Log in with DigiD (for individuals) or eHerkenning (for businesses).
- If you have to submit a notification, you can do so at once via the online service counter Omgevingsloket. Log in with DigiD (for individuals) or eHerkenning (for businesses).
There are no costs associated with a notification. A permit for fire-safe use does. To this end, the function and surface of the building are considered.
In addition, investments may be necessary to be able to comply with the rules. These investments are for own account.
The municipality needs 8 weeks (standard procedure) to assess your application. In some cases it can take 26 weeks (extended procedure), for example if you want to deviate from the zoning plan. The municipality may extend the period once by 6 weeks.
