You have a building where many people can come together. Then this building must be fireproof. Sometimes you have to make a report
There are national requirements for the fire-safe use of buildings. These rules are in Building Environment Decree (Bbl).
Report it
In a number of cases you must report fire-safe use (or: use report) to the municipality. This depends on the use of the building or the number of people staying there at the same time. You submit 1 report per building. With this notification you show what measures you have taken for fire safety. If the use of the building changes, you must report again.
You report fire-safe use:
- A usage report is mandatory for a residential function for room-based rental or a residential function for care.
- For a non-residential function, a usage notification is only mandatory if the total number of people in the structure is greater than the number of people mentioned in table 6.6 (Article 6.6 Bbl). The obligation applies to structural, but also to incidental cases
- In a building (or part of a building) with multiple functions, the persons must be added together. The usage function with the lowest designated number of persons present then determines whether a usage report must be made or not
You can report it via the Environment counter.
Message
You make a notification at least 4 weeks before you are going to use the building.
