Municipality Smallingerland: Fire safety measures for a building
Every building must address fire safety. For some buildings you need to notify when you are going to use the building (notification of use for fire safety). For some buildings you need to request a fire safety environmental permit. You can check through the Environmental Portal whether you need to make a notification or apply for a permit.
The municipality will review your application and notification and check they comply with the Construction Decree and the BOR. In addition, the municipality will look at the accessibility for the new situation, the available water for firefighting, etc. In future the municipality will likely carry out checks on usage on site, to make sure that you are still complying with the Construction Decree.
Making an application or a notification:
1. Go to the Environmental Portal online.
2. Run the permit check. You can see whether you need a permit or need to submit a notification.
3. If you need a permit, then you can request this immediately using the online Environmental Portal, or submit it on paper. Log in using DigiD (for you personally) or log in using e-identification for a company.
4. If you need to make a notification, then you can do this immediately using the online Environmental Portal. Log in using DigiD (for you personally) or log in using e-identification for a company.
The charges will depend on which environmental permit you are applying for. You will be charged even if you do not obtain the permit.
The municipality needs 8 weeks (standard procedure) to assess your application. In some cases it can take 26 weeks (extended procedure), for example if you want to deviate from the zoning plan. The municipality may extend the period once by 6 weeks.
