Child first aid certificate in childcare

This information is provided by:Netherlands Enterprise Agency, RVONetherlands Enterprise Agency, RVONederlandse versie

If you own a childcare facility, you must make sure that there is at least 1 adult with a first aid certificate present during opening hours.

Do you provide day care and out-of-school care (BSO) on 1 location, but not in 1 combined group? Then there must be at least 2 adults with a first aid certificate present.

List of first aid certificates

The first aid certificate must be included in the government list of certificates suitable for administering first aid to children (in Dutch). A first aid certificate specifically for children can also be part of a company emergency response course (BHV-training).

The adult with a child first aid certificate does not have to be a pedagogical member of staff, but must be able to attend an incident quickly.
