There are 2 types of gaming machines. If you want to place a machine for games of chance, such as a slot machine, you apply for a permit (presence permit). If you want to place a machine on which you can only play games, such as a pinball machine, you do not need a permit.

There is a maximum of 2 machines per business. Games of chance are only allowed in high-threshold establishments.

If you want to install a gaming machine, you need a gaming machine licence. You can only apply for a gaming machine licence only if you operate an amusement arcade or if you have a high-treshold establishment. An establishment is high-treshold if:

the location is used as a café or restaurantyou have a valid alcohol and catering licence for this locationthe activities are aimed at people aged 18 and over

To apply for a gaming machine licence, you also need other permits:

For a high-treshold establishment, you need a valid alcohol and catering licence.For an amusement arcade, you need a valid operating permit for an amusement arcade.

Good to know

The licence is personal. You are the only one who may use it. The licence only applies to the business for which it has been granted.
