Municipality Hellendoorn: Permit for gaming machines and amusement arcades
If you want to place a gambling machine, for example a slot machine, you must apply for a permit. This permit is called a presence permit. No license is required for a machine of skill, for example a pinball machine. The municipality makes a distinction between ‘high-threshold’ and ‘low-threshold’ establishments. High-threshold establishments include cafes, bars and nightclubs. These companies are allowed to have 2 slot machines, both games of chance and skill machines. Low-threshold establishments are, for example, snack bars and canteens. These companies are allowed to have 2 skill machines (so no gambling machines)
Gaming machines are only permitted in high-threshold catering establishments. The permit applicant, managers and manager must be of good morals. This means that they may not be under guardianship and may not have recently committed a (serious) crime. The supervisors and manager must have a diploma in Social Hygiene, which shows that they have knowledge and understanding of the risks of gambling addiction. Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed to use the gambling machine.

Costs
Presence permit for a period of 3 years:-For the first slot machine: €56.50 per year-For the second slot machine: €34.00 per year
You will receive a response to your application within 8 weeks.
