Municipality Utrecht: Permit for gaming machines and amusement arcades

If you want to place a slot machine, you need a presence permit. You can only apply for the presence permit if you operate an amusement arcade. Or if you have a high-threshold facility. An establishment has a high threshold if:

• the space is used as a café or restaurant
• you have a valid liquor and catering permit for this room
• the activities are suitable for persons aged 18 and older

To apply for the presence permit, you also need other permits:

• For a high-threshold establishment you need: a valid liquor and catering permit.
• For a slot machine hall you need: a valid Slot Machine Hall Exploitation Permit.

Good to know

• The presence permit is valid for 3 years or the presence permit is valid for as long as your liquor and catering permit. You must extend the presence permit yourself in time.
• The permit is personal. You are the only one allowed the permit
