Do you have a catering business, such as a café? And do you want to place a slot machine? Or do you have a slot machine hall? You need an attendance permit for a gambling or gaming machine. A gaming machine or gambling machine, for example, is a fruit machine, a machine that allows someone to win money. For a dexterity machine such as a pinball machine, you do not need a permit.

The license is personal. So it is in your name. You cannot transfer it to another person.

The owner of a slot machine must also apply for an operating license from the gaming authority.

There are conditions. These are, for example:

  • The manager or manager is 21 years of age or older.
  • At least 1 manager or manager is present during opening hours. This person is listed on the permit.
  • You need a separate permit for each branch of your business.
  • If anything changes, notify us immediately. For example, if there is a new manager or if you install a new vending machine.
  • Only high-threshold catering establishments can apply for a permit to operate a gaming machine. This type of business is aimed at an audience of 18 years and older and alcohol is served. Think of a café or restaurant.

Apply for the permit from the municipality where your business is located. This can be done in writing. It goes like this:

  • Do not forget your signature.
  • Enclose the following:- For each manager and company director a copy of a valid identity document: passport, identity card, driving license or residence permit.- A certificate of good conduct from each manager and company director.- Information about your company, such as name, address- The number of vending machines you wish to install- A plan of your company. Here you also describe where the machines are located- An extract from the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Send the completed application form, the copies and information accompanying your application to: Municipality of Veendam Department of Licensing and Enforcement, P.O. Box 20004, 9640 PA Veendam.

We decide within 8 weeks after we receive your application. We may extend this period 1 time.
