Municipality Veendam: Permit for gaming machines and amusement arcades
Do you have a catering business, such as a café? And do you want to place a slot machine? Or do you have a slot machine hall? You need an attendance permit for a gambling or gaming machine. A gaming machine or gambling machine, for example, is a fruit machine, a machine that allows someone to win money. For a dexterity machine such as a pinball machine, you do not need a permit.
The license is personal. So it is in your name. You cannot transfer it to another person.
The owner of a slot machine must also apply for an operating license from the gaming authority.
There are conditions. These are, for example:
- The manager or manager is 21 years of age or older.
- At least 1 manager or manager is present during opening hours. This person is listed on the permit.
- You need a separate permit for each branch of your business.
- If anything changes, notify us immediately. For example, if there is a new manager or if you install a new vending machine.
- Only high-threshold catering establishments can apply for a permit to operate a gaming machine. This type of business is aimed at an audience of 18 years and older and alcohol is served. Think of a café or restaurant.
