Municipality Westerwolde: Permit for gaming machines and amusement arcades

If you want to install a gaming machine you need a municipal gaming machine permit. You can only apply for the gaming machine permit if you operate a gaming machine hall. Or if you run a high-threshold catering establishment. An establishment has a high threshold if:  

• It is used as a café or restaurant
• You hold a valid liquor and catering licence for this establishment
• The activities are suitable for persons aged eighteen and above

To apply for a gaming machine permit, you will also need other permits:

•  In a high-threshold establishment you will need: a valid liquor and catering licence.
• In a gaming machine hall, you will need: a valid amusement arcade permit.

Good to know

• The permit is personal. You are the only one allowed to use the permit.
