Activities that pose risks and cause (environmental) damage to the surrounding area are referred to as environmentally harmful activities. These may include, for example, waste storage, noise pollution or the storage of hazardous substances.

The Living Environment Activities Decree sets out what is and is not permitted and the conditions that apply. In some cases, no permit is required for environmentally harmful activities, provided you comply with the rules. In such cases, you must, however, submit an environmental notification. In certain circumstances, an environmental permit is required for the environmental aspect of the activity.

Submitting a notification or applying for a permit

You can submit a notification or apply for a permit via the digital environmental service portal. Applications are assessed by the North Holland North Environmental Service, on behalf of the local authority.

Omgevingsvergunning

Submitting a report or applying for an environmental permit for the environmental component is free of charge.

The total costs depend on the number of activities for which you are applying for an Environmental Permit. The costs are calculated after you have submitted the application and it has been processed.
