As the owner, manager or user of a building, you must take a number of measures to use that building in a fire-safe manner.

You can report this via the Omgevingsloket. This can be done via the following link:

Omgevingsloket (in Dutch).

You must report if:

  • you offer the following to more than 10 people:
    • commercial night accommodation (such as in hotels and guesthouses)
    • night accommodation as care (such as in hospitals and nursing homes)
    • day care for children under 12 years old (such as in primary schools and daycare centers)
    • day care center for people with a physical or mental disability
  • more than 50 people will be present in the building at the same time
  • you are going to rent out a home room by room
  • the use of the structure in an equivalent manner complies with the regulations of the Besluit Bouwwerken Leefomgeving (BBL).

The processing time for a report is 4 weeks. You will receive written notification of your report.
