Credit Guarantee Scheme for Agriculture (BL)

Are you an entrepreneur and do you want to invest in your agricultural, horticultural, fishing, or aquaculture business? And you do not have enough security to get a loan? Then you may be eligible for the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Agriculture and Fisheries (BLV). The government guarantees part of your loan from the bank or another financier, and will be liable for that part.

Conditions of the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Agriculture and Fisheries (BLV)

The conditions of the BLV scheme include:

• You have an agricultural, horticultural, fishing, or aquaculture business.
• Your turnover is mainly from the production of plant, livestock, fishery, and aquaculture products. The products are not processed further (primary production only).
• Your company is established in the Netherlands, and this is where most of your business activities take place.
• Do you own a fishing company? Then your fishing vessel must be registered in the Dutch fishing vessel register.
• Your company is financially sound.

How to apply for the BLV?

As an entrepreneur, you do not apply for the BLV yourself. Your participating bank or other financier will submit the application to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO, in Dutch). This also applies if you want to change to biological agriculture with SKAL certification. 

How can you apply for the BLV as a bank or financier?

Are you offering funding as a bank or financier? And do you want to offer the BLV to agricultural, horticultural, fishing, or aquaculture businesses? Then you must first be appointed as a financier. Complete the application form to become a BLV financier.
