Subsidy or grant

Would you like to work together with other local businesses to explore how to make better use of the electricity grid? The Energy Hubs Research (EHUB) subsidy can help you find out whether you can set up an energy hub, or expand an existing hub.

In an energy hub, local users make agreements with local energy suppliers about their energy consumption, in order to prevent grid congestion.

What are the conditions for EHUB?

You can use the EHUB subsidy for (in Dutch):

  • an exploratory study (scan) into the possibilities for a new energy hub, or
  • a study to draw up a plan for the development of a new energy hub, or to make a plan to expand an existing energy hub

To apply you must meet all conditions for the subsidy (in Dutch), for example:

  • You want to set up or expand an energy hub with at least 2 other businesses, each of which has a high-capacity connection (3x80 A)
  • You and the other 2 business have no financial ties to each other.
  • You list your initiative on the Energy Hubs Knowledge Platform’s map (Initiatievenradar, in Dutch).

How to apply?

You can apply for the Energy Hubs Research (EHUB) subsidy to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency from 1 October 2026, 9:00 hours until 1 May 2027, 17:00 hours (in Dutch).
