Studies for Sustainable Industry subsidies (STUDI)
Do you want to use innovative or established technologies to reduce CO2 emissions in your industrial process? Or do you want to test the feasibility of these technologies? If the follow-up of this project can help reduce CO2 emissions within 10 years, you can apply for the Studies for Sustainable Industry (STUDI) subsidy.Â
The STUDI subsidy is part of the Energy Innovation NL scheme.Â
Conditions for the STUDI subsidyÂ
You can apply for a STUDI subsidy to conduct a feasibility study, an environmental study, or a comparative study. You can only apply for those parts of the study you need in order to decide whether to proceed with the project.Â
You must meet the following conditions (in Dutch):
- Your business is in the industrial sector.
- Your research will take a maximum of 1 year if you apply for €1 million, or a maximum of 2 years if you apply for more than €1 million.
- You will carry out the research yourself or in collaboration with others.
- You must meet the general criteria for energy innovation subsidies of the Top Sector Energy scheme (in Dutch).Â
There are separate STUDI subsidies for investigating the feasibility of specific techniques for reducing CO2-emissions:Â
- Hydrogen and green chemistry (in Dutch) for studies involving electrolysis, electrochemistry, or hydrogen transportÂ
- Gasification of waste streams (in Dutch) for studies involving techniques to gasify residual energy, or otherwise converting residual energy into renewable energy or resourcesÂ
How to apply?Â
You can apply for the STUDI subsidy to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO, in Dutch) from 18 May 2026 until 31 March 2027, 17:00 hours.Â
You need to log in with eHerkenning level 3 to apply for this subsidy.
