Subsidy or grant

Do you run a company in the Netherlands and do you employ a sick or disabled person who needs coaching? Or do you offer a potential employee a trial placement? You can apply for a reimbursement or subsidy to use a job coach.

A job coach can be an in-house or an external professional. A job coach supports the employee for up to 15% of their work hours. They will help your employee with their introduction and training, and supports them in the workplace for a period of up to 3 years.

When do you qualify?

You can only request a subsidy for a job coach if the Employee Insurance Agency (Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringen, UWV) agrees that the employee requires support due to their disease or handicap to do their work. Your employee must also:

  • have a contract for at least 3 months
  • work at least 8 hours a week

How to apply?

You submit your application for an in-house job coach to the Employee Insurance Agency (Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringen, UWV, in Dutch).

The employee applies for an external job coach through the Employee Insurance Agency (Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringen, UWV) using the ‘Aanvragen voorziening’ form (in Dutch). UWV will pay a fee to the job coach once this application has been approved.

Online tool Financial CV

For some employees you can use financial schemes. Use the online tool ‘Financial CV’ (in Dutch) to see which financial scheme you can use and to get an indication of the amount of your benefit is.
