Do you help municipalities in making urban areas climate neutral? You can apply for the ERA-NET call for Positive Energy Districts (PEDs). This subsidy stimulates the transition towards a more sustainable future.

Positive Energy Districts

This call by JPI Urban Europe supports partnerships who work to transform existing urban areas from energy users to energy generators. For instance by retrofitting existing heating and energy infrastructure with durable alternatives. Proposals should focus on exploring options for improving technical and strategic knowledge of PEDs and their implementation.

Who can apply

Partnerships can apply if they meet the criteria:

  • the partnership consists of knowledge institutes, businesses, consultancy agencies and at least 1 municipality in the Netherlands
  • the partnership has at least 1 partner from one of the other participating countries: Austria, Denmark, Italy, Romania, Sweden, Türkiye or the Brussels Capital Region
  • the maximum duration of the project is 36 months

How to apply

You can no longer apply for the Positive Energy Districts subsidy. You could apply internationally and nationally until 24 February 2022.
