Established SMEs, innovative startups and academics in the Netherlands can apply for Proof-of-concept funding for the development of a working prototype, to conduct market research or to devise a business plan.This loan will enable you to develop your concept or product so that it reaches the startup phase sooner.

When do you qualify?

  • You are an SME company, an innovative startup or an academic starter, affiliated with a university or a university hospital.
  • You have an established business or branch in the Netherlands at the time you are granted the loan.
  • Your concept or product is currently in the phase just after market research and before market introduction.
  • You have not yet started with the implementation of this proof-of-concept phase.

How to apply?

Applications can be submitted from 1 January until 31 December 2018, 5 p.m. SMEs and innovative starters can apply for Proof-of-concept funding to the Netherlands Enterprise AgencyExternal link (RVO).These will be evaluated by the Proof-of-concept funding committee in the order of submission within 13 weeks of submission. Academic, HBO and T02 start-ups must submit their applications to the TTW (foremerly) Technology Foundation STWExternal link.
