Proof-of-concept funding (VFF)

Starting innovative (academic) entrepreneurs and SMEs in the Netherlands can apply for Proof-of-concept funding for the development of a working prototype, to conduct market research or to devise a business plan. This loan will enable you to market your concept or product sooner.

When do you qualify?

  • You are an innovative starter, an SME company or an academic starter, affiliated with a university or a university hospital.
  • At the time you are granted the loan, you have an established business or branch in the Netherlands.
  • Your concept or product is currently in the phase just after market research and before market introduction.
  • You have not yet started with the implementation of this proof-of-concept phase.

How to apply?

SMEs and innovative starters can apply for Proof-of-concept funding to the Netherlands Enterprise AgencyExternal link (RVO). Academic start-ups must submit their applications to the Technology Foundation STWExternal link.
