Do you rent out a home to tourists? Rental platforms (websites) should state the registration number in adverts if the rental home is located in a municipality where registration is mandatory. This way municipalities will have better insight into addresses and people renting out to tourists.
Since the beginning of 2021, municipalities can demand that homeowners who want to rent out their home to holidaymakers apply for a registration number. This registration number should now be stated in every advert on platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo.
Platforms are required to supply information on local regulations to providers of holiday homes.
- online rental platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo
- people who offer housing as holiday accommodation in municipalities with a registration duty
This change in law has entered into force on 1 July 2021.
