Occupational Disability Fund premium for SMEs lowered in 2022

What changes?

Are you an SME employer? From 1 January 2022, you will pay less premium for the Occupational Disability Fund (Arbeidsongeschiktheidsfonds, Aof). If one of your employees falls ill, you will have to continue paying their wages. There also may be costs for the reintegration of your employee. The new measures make the Continued payment of wages Obligation easier, cheaper, and clearer for SMEs.

An amount of €450 million is available for SMEs each year. You can make use of these funds to pay for insurance, such as an absenteeism insurance for SMEs.

The change in regulation will enter into force on 1 January 2022.
