What changes?

Do you employ staff in the Netherlands? From 1 January 2026 the gross statutory minimum wage for employees aged 21 and over will go up to €14.71 per hour. This is an increase of 2.15% compared to the current minimum wage (€14.40).

Since 2024, an hourly statutory minimum youth wage applies to employees aged 15 to 20. For employees under the age of 21, the minimum youth wage per hour varies according to age.

The minimum wage and the youth minimum wage are adjusted every 6 months, on 1 January and 1 July.

For whom?

  • all employers with staff aged 15 years or older

When?

The change in the hourly statutory wage takes effect on 1 January 2026.
