Tap water tax (BoL) will go up

What changes?Â
Do you use tap water of drinking water quality in your business? If so, you must pay tap water tax (BoL). This is included in your water bill. From 1 January 2027, this tax will increase by €0,11 per m3 of supplied tap water. This includes indexation. You will then pay €0.551 per m3.Â
In addition, the tax threshold for large-scale consumers will be abolished entirely in 2027. You will then have to pay tax on every m3 of tap water of drinking water quality. This measure contributes, amongst other things, to the more economical use of water.Â
When?Â
The change in tap water tax (Belasting op Leidingwater, BoL) is expected to take effect on 1 January 2027.
