Do you want to sell goods or food at the market? You need a permit for a permanent spot on the market. You can apply for this at the municipality.

Do you want a place for 1 day? Arrange this with the market master. This can be done on the day itself. A day place is, for example, a place that is not used because the market vendor is on vacation.

The spots at the market are divided in such a way that there are stalls with different types of products.

If you want to sell something from a stall or cart in another place, you need a stand permit. For example, if you want to stand along the road or on a square.

The weekly market is on the Museumplein in the center of Veendam:

Monday afternoon from 13:00 to 17:00 hoursThursday from 10.00 to 17.00 hours

There are conditions. For example:

  • You may not give your spot to someone else.
  • You may not transfer the permit to someone else. The permit is personal

For a place for a day, call the market manager at phone number: +31598 652222 or email info@veendam.nl.

  • Arrangements will be made as to when the place will be taken at the market.
  • When the merchant stays longer a permit can be requested

You apply for the market permit at the municipality.

  • Make an appointment with the municipality by phone: +31598 652222
  • Come in person to your appointment.

The cost can be found here: regulation market fees 2024

The market manager usually decides right away if you can walk along, if you want to stay at the market for a longer period of time we will make a permit.

Do you disagree with the decision on the permit application? You can file an objection. This can be done directly with the municipality. Do this within 6 weeks after you have received the decision. If you then disagree with the decision on your objection, you can appeal. You can do this with the court.
