You need a market permit (marktvergunning) to sell products at a market.

Check whether there is a pitch available

First, find out which market you want to sell at, and check if there is a pitch available. Contact the municipality.

  • valid identity document
  • if you are not a Dutch citizen: a valid Dutch residence permit
  • if you live outside the Netherlands: a copy of a document showing that you have a permanent place of residence
  • an extract of your listing in the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce’s business register (KVK Handelsregister) entry from the Chamber of Commerce (no more than 1 month old) and an extract from the Personal Records Database (Basisregistratie Personen, BRP)
  • a recent colour passport photo
  • a certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag, VOG) no more than 3 months old

You can apply for the market permit online. You can log in with DigiD or eHerkenning  and complete the application form.
