Selling products

Do you want to sell goods or food from a stand or van on a (public) road? Then you must apply for a market trader’s licence (standplaatsvergunning).

Selling goods occasionally from a fixed pitch

Do you want to sell goods from a stand or van on an occasional basis? Or do you want to sell seasonal goods, for instance Christmas trees or ice cream? Then you must apply for an occasional market trader’s licence (incidentele standplaatsvergunning).

Selling goods from a fixed pitch

Do you want to sell goods from a fixed pitch? For instance  a kiosk? Then you must apply for an all-in-one permit for physical aspects (omgevingsvergunning)

Selling goods from a fixed pitch at specific times

Do you want to sell goods from a fixed pitch at specific, agreed times? Then you must apply for an itinerant market trader’s licence (ambulante standplaatsvergunning).

Selling goods without a fixed pitch

Do you want to sell goods on the street or door-to-door, and not from a fixed pitch? In this case, you do not need a licence.

Seasonal sales

Do you sell seasonal goods for no more than 3 months a year? Then you must apply for a seasonal market trader’s licence (seizoensstandplaats).

Applying for a market trader's licence

To obtain a market trader’s licence, you must meet the following conditions:

  • you are registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KVK)
  • you meet your municipality’s general conditions for renting a pitch 
  • your pitch does not cause public order problems
  • you yourself must sell goods at the pitch.

You can choose an available pitch.

Online

You can apply for the market trader’s licence online.

At the service counter

You can also apply for a market trader’s licence at your municipality’s service counter. You should make an appointment to do this. Please call +31 (0)593 92 22.

An application costs €42.53. A stand costs € 73.65 per meter per year per half day per linear front width (stall width). A minimum of 4 meters will be charged.

Costs for electricity use are €2.40 per half day.

Waiting list

You will be placed on a waiting list if there is no room. The costs for the first year are €21.00. Renewal costs €13.90 per year.
