If you wish to organise an event, you must notify the municipality and, in some cases, apply for a permit. You can check this online using the permit check (vergunningscheck).

A permit is required for some events. And for other events, a notification is sufficient. Events come in three types. Events with high inconvenience, events with little inconvenience and events without inconvenience. Inconveniences for local residents, for emergency services or for nature. For example, being able to experience nuisance due to noise, smell, vibrations or the availability of fewer parking spaces.
Events with high inconvenience
Events with high inconvenience like a music festival such must complete the ‘event with high inconvenience’ form. This form must be submitted to the municipality 12 weeks before the event to be held.
Events with little inconvenience
This form must be submitted to the municipality 8 weeks before the event to be held.
Events without inconvenience
There is a reporting obligation for events without inconvenience. If the regulations as laid down are met, the ‘non-stressful event’ report form can be used. This form must be submitted at least 10 working days in advance.
Barbecue or street party
If you hold a barbecue/street party (private party) on a public road, this is not an event. In that case you can use the ‘Barbecue/street party notification’ form. This form must be submitted at least 10 working days in advance. You will receive our message within a few days.
