If you wish to organise an event, you must notify the municipality and, in some cases, apply for a permit. You can check this online using the permit check (vergunningscheck).

For many small events, you do not need a permit. In such cases, you can provide notification of the event free of charge.

Evenementenvergunning

Small eventA permit is not required for a small event with fewer than 100 visitors. You must notify us of your plans in writing. The following conditions apply:

  • the event takes place between 09:00 and 24:00 and lasts 1 day
  • you do not play music after 11 p.m
  • you take traffic into account and ensure free access for emergency services
  • you only place objects with a surface area not exceeding 25 m2
  • an organizer is present on the day of the event the organizer informs (possible) local residents at least 1 week in advance

When to submitArrange the application well before the event takes place (including set-up). Incomplete or late requests may mean that your event cannot take place. Our terms are:

At least 8 weeks in advance for a low-risk event (A event)At least 12 weeks in advance for an event with an increased risk (B event)At least 20 weeks in advance for a C event

  • In the case of an A or B event, we will inform you in writing about our decision within 8 weeks
  • In case of high-risk events, we will inform you within 16 weeks
  • When applying for a permit, we look at safety, public order, fire safety, serving alcohol and possible nuisance caused by music, among other things.

This depends on the number of visitors and your plans. In all cases you need:

  • Map, program and scenario of your event
