If you wish to organise an event, you must notify the municipality and, in some cases, apply for a permit. You can check this online using the permit check (vergunningscheck).

For many small events, you do not need a permit. In such cases, you can provide notification of the event free of charge.

Apply for the permit for A-events at least six weeks in advance of the event, for B and C-events at least thirteen weeks in advance and for new C-events at least 20 weeks in advance. If you submit the application too late, the municipality may decide not to process your application.

If you would like to know whether your event falls under an A, B or C category, please contact one of our employees at permits@hofvantwente.nl.

You do not need a permit if your event meets the following conditions:

  • The number of people present does not exceed 100 people, of which a maximum of 50 people may be present in a tent or other structure at the same time;
  • The event takes place between 8am and 12:30am;
  • No music is played before 8am or after 12pm;
  • The event does not take place on the roadway, (moped) cycle path or parking lot or otherwise forms an obstacle to traffic and the emergency services;
  • A maximum of 3 objects will be placed, of which only 1 tent with a maximum surface area of 50 m2 and the other 2 objects with a maximum surface area of 10 m2;
  • There is an organizer;
  • Nor is a permit required for walking and/or cycling tours that take place in daylight, without a competitive element, where no traffic measures are taken and where there are no more than 250 participants.

For B and C events, a safety plan must be submitted in addition to the application. You will find more information that a Safety Plan must comply with on the website of the Safety Region.

If traffic measures (road closures, one-way traffic and/or parking bans) are taken during your event, a traffic plan must also be submitted.

Each event request must be provided with a clear situation drawing with dimensions. If you also place a tent or stage, you must submit a detailed drawing, including all dimensions. If there is a construction book of the tent or stage, this must also be sent with the application. Click here to learn more about drawing submission requirements.
