The municipality of Laarbeek has had a new events policy since August 1, 2023. On this page you can read what the most important changes are and how to apply for an event permit or notification for a small event.
Event Policy Changes
Events are divided into risk categories: A, B, or C events. In the new policy, an extra category has been added: the B2 events. These are the larger festivals and tent parties or events with (large) outdoor stages. From 1 January 2024, this type of event will be subject to a maximum of 6 B2 events per location per year. The end times and noise standards have been adjusted. For most events, a lower noise standard applies after 23:00. You can read exactly which times and noise standards apply in chapter 5 (section 5.4.2) of our event policy. For small events, under certain conditions, a notification obligation applies instead of a permit requirement. You can read more about this in chapter 3 (section 3.2.2) of our events policy and under the heading ‘Organising an event: permit or notification?’
