Are you a private individual, company or institution? And do you want to organize an event or neighborhood party in the municipality of Leiden? If so, you may need an event permit. Sometimes a notification is sufficient. You can apply for an event permit with or make a notification to the municipality.
Are you organizing a major event? Then submit your application at least 16 weeks before the event takes place.
Only a notification
For a small event (such as a street party) you only need to make a notification to the municipality of Leiden. An event permit is not required for:
- street or neighborhood party (with or without barbecue)
- maximum 75 participants
- event at 1 location
- lasts up to 1 day
- free passage for emergency and emergency services (police, fire brigade and ambulance)
- music with a maximum volume of 70 decibels
- no alcohol sales
- no closure of a main road
- no placement of temporary structures
The amount that you have to pay depends on the type of event that you are organising.
You will be notified within 8 to 10 weeks. The municipality may extend this notice period once.
