You must apply for a permit for a major event no later than December 1 of the year before the event takes place. Smaller events must be notified 3 weeks in advance. You can determine whether your event is large or small by filling in the form digitally

Organize event

What you need to know

  • Have you been notified that you need a permit? Then you must submit the permit application at least 12 weeks before the event takes place 
  • If we do not receive the application in full and on time, or if you have not sent us the required map of the event site, we will not process your application 
  • If you have previously received a permit for this (unchanged) event, you can reuse the approved attachments (updated) 
  • Remember that you may need other permits in addition to the event permit. Such as a temporary exemption for serving alcohol or a permit to hold a lottery. Read more about other permits
  • Are you a private individual? You may be able to get a subsidy for your event through Vlietwensen
  • As an organisation, you may be able to apply for a one-off subsidy

Small event

 You only have to report a small event via the digital form Organizing an event. You don't need a permit. 

  • There are fewer than 250 attendees at the busiest time.
  • There is an organizer who supervises
  • No other event will take place at the same location
  • No fireworks
  • The event is outdoors.
  • The event is monday to saturday between 09.00 and 23.00 or Sunday between 13.00 and 23.00
  • The event is not taking place on roads.
  • The event will not disrupt traffic.
  • The noise level will not exceed 70 dB(C) on the façades of dwellings in the immediate proximity of the event.
  • You place small objects with a surface area of less than 25 m2 per object, such as a bouncy castle or a barbecue.

Temporarily serving alcohol

 Would you like to serve or sell alcoholic beverages during an event, such as a neighborhood party or fair? Then you need an exemption. Read more about the license to serve alcohol

Notification festival

An occasional festivity is a celebration of 1 or a small number of establishments, such as a school, church, shop or catering establishment. This involves noise nuisance or light nuisance.You may hold a maximum of 6 incidental festivities per calendar year. You report the occasional festivity at least 2 weeks in advance digitally on webpage: Notification festival

  • Temporarily serving alcohol: € 60,30
  • Small event: € 106,15
  • Medium and large event: € 705,50
