Municipality Midden-Delfland: Applying for an event licence
If you want to organize a sports competition, event, pop concert or fancy fair, in many cases you need an event permit. For some small-scale events, a notification is sufficient. To check whether you have to report your event or whether you need a permit, you can do a global test via decision trees, which you will find under the heading ‘forms’. You can register or apply for the permit with the mayor of the municipality where the event will take place. The mayor can grant a permit under specific conditions. Also keep in mind that an event on the water may also require a permit or exemption from the Delfland Water Board.
Arrange immediately
Go to the forms (permit application or notification) How does it work? The events policy framework includes the conditions that an event must meet in order to be reported only or when applying for a permit is mandatory. These policy rules state the procedures for reporting and applying for permits. Make sure your application is complete (for the required attachments, see the explanation on the application form) and keep in mind that you submit your application on time and do not assume that every application will be honored. The license may be refused in the interest of, among other things: Public order. Preventing or limiting nuisance. Road safety or the safety of persons or goods. Morality or health. The protection of the environment. The Guideline for Constructive Assessment Criteria applies to an application for an Event Permit for the erection of structures such as stages, stands, tents and set screens.
Permit application or notification?Additional information
The municipality has established a policy for events. In this policy you can read which conditions apply to holding events. Read the events policy framework here. The Guideline for Constructive Assessment Criteria applies to an application for an Event Permit for the erection of structures such as stages, stands, tents and set screens. When using a closed tent, a number of safety regulations apply in connection with fire safety. You will find the regulations in the BGBOP (Decree on fire-safe use and basic emergency care in other places (link is external)). Need event traffic controllers for your event? All information about and for event traffic controllers can be found on the page Event traffic controllers course via E-learning.
What should I do?
In general, you must submit a permit application at least six weeks before using the permit at small events. It is recommended that you submit your application much earlier (for example 8 to 12 weeks in advance). For some major events, the municipality needs a lot of time to coordinate with the police and fire brigade, etc. and they must be reported before November 1 of the year in which the event takes place. Please keep that in mind!
A notification is free. The fees for the permit are indexed annually and can be found in the fee table of the Fee Regulation.
You will be notified within 8 to 10 weeks. The municipality may extend this notice period once.
If the mayor’s decision on your application is negative, you have the option of submitting a notice of objection.
