If you wish to organise an event, you must notify the municipality and, in some cases, apply for a permit. You can check this online using the permit check (vergunningscheck).
For many small events, you do not need a permit. In such cases, you can provide notification of the event free of charge.
Event licenceYou apply for an event permit if at least 1 of these conditions applies:
- The event is aimed at a broad audience, also outside the municipality. And is not intended for acquaintances, friends or family
- The event takes place in a nature reserve
- The event takes place on a roadway and/or obstructs traffic or emergency services (e.g. ambulance, police or fire brigade)
- The event aims to make a profit
- The organization behind the event is a company
- Voices are amplified during the event
- Music is amplified during the event
- Motor vehicles (car, motorcycle, tractor, moped, etc.) are used at the event. Or devices with an electric motor or combustion engine. Think of air cushions, pumps, electric heaters, infrared heaters, a device that heats oil, a barbecue or compressor
- Fireworks will be set off during the event
- Alcohol will be served during the event. Request permission
- A tent or other structure is placed for more than 50 people
If these conditions do not apply, you do not need an event permit.

You pay €40.80 if you receive an event permit. You pay €121.50 extra if measures are necessary for traffic or fire safety. Or if other efforts from the municipality are required.
You will be notified within 8 to 10 weeks. The municipality may extend this notice period once.
